Green Goddess - Lena Loucks Oil on Canvas 2008
Lena created constantly, leaving behind boxes of journals, paintings, sketches, video and song. I realize how lucky I am to have her unique world view preserved in such a tangible way. Many humans, even those who do not consider themselves “artists”, will use sound, image, movement or whatever material inspires them, to shape and share their internal experience. Lena’s sister, her friends, my friends and family have shown amazing creativity in response to Lena’s death. I am so grateful and take great pleasure sharing examples here.
